For the last four years, the Jerusalem International Chamber Music Festival has been a guest at the Jewish Museum Berlin. With the intonations festival we have found in Berlin a second home and an extraordinary location for our idea: namely that renowned performers and young talents join together to celebrate with the audience the love of chamber music.

Rarely does one have the opportunity to hear chamber music as “up close” as in the Glashof, or Glass Courtyard of the Museum. Different thematic accents are set each year by the Festival. In 2014 it was under the banners of the epochal breaking-point of the First World War and the 150th birthday of Richard Strauss. We took this as an opportunity, together with Deutschlandradio Kultur (the culture section of Radio Germany), to record individual concerts of the festival. I am thus delighted to present to you what is now the second edition of the Jerusalem International Chamber Music Festival. My special thanks go to Evonik Industries and the Jewish Museum Berlin for their generous support of this edition, and to Gideon Boss for the production of the recordings. I wish you much joy and inspiring moments of chamber music!
